Erotic shaped erosions do it for you? Then visit Turkey!

One region of Turkey has seen an influx of visitors recently, but not for the reason you’d expect.

- Elena Pleskevich

Dubbed “Love Valley”, tourists are grabbing a hot air balloon over the Cappadocia region to catch a glimpse of …the cock rocks.

Strange as it sounds, years of erosion of the volcanic rock in the area has led to the creation of some rather phallic pillars. Roughly 9 to 3 million years ago the thick ash that came from volcanic eruptions solidified into meters-thick, soft rock. The wind and the rain eroded that rock quicker, leaving the harder rock on top relatively untouched.

Some of these stone giants are around 130 feet tall!

According to tourist officials, the number of tourists visiting central Turkey hit a record breaking 1 million last year.
