Real Morocco with Real Locals

Since pre-history, Morocco has been the focus point of cultural exchange and development. It was not only the crossing point into Europe but also the terminal of an ancient trading route that brought goods through Timbuktu from Zanzibar, Sub-Saharan Africa, and even as far away as China and Japan.

Morocco has been struggled over and occupied by countless groups over the years, and each people left some of themselves behind. What remains is a modern kingdom, and one of the most nuanced, diverse, and vibrant cultures in the world.

A group of local Moroccans from the country's arid southeast started Best Travel Morocco more than 15 years ago to help visitors to the country see an authentic side of Morocco, and gain a true understanding of its varied cultures. It started by leading treks into the rose-red sand dunes of the Erg Chebbi on the edge of the Sahara Desert, and has since grown nationwide, personally showing visitors the most spectacular reaches of Morocco, from the natural beauty of the Atlantic beaches, snow-capped Atlas Mountains, pristine dunes of the Sahara desert, and verdant oases that dot the countryside to the ancient splendor of its mosques and imperial cities.

Travel itineraries are carefully designed and customized to fit anybody's particular interests, and they are led personally by locals passionate about their country and the history of the people. With them as a guide, you'll come out of your Moroccan experience with some new perspective on a country that is steeped in mystery.

How is Best Travel different?

What differentiates Best Travel Morocco is their focus on culture. The founders started the company as a way to show their local Tamazight Berber culture to visitors to the Sahara Desert, the ancestral home of their people, and to share the nomadic way of life that many local people still lead. Since then the company has spread to the far reaches of Morocco, from the beaches and argan forests in the south to the isolated villages of the High Atlas Mountains in the north, and Best Travel's focus has never shifted from sharing the local cultures as deeply and truly as possible. Alongside Best Travel Morocco, you won't go home with just photos, but with a true, authentic experience of an ancient and complex culture.
