The Best Balearic Boat Bashes

The humble boat has been used as a method of travel and transportation for thousands of years. But over this time it has also helped serve another purpose: as a venue in which to party.

Our fascination with exploring new ways to have fun has always been in the back of our minds and the concept of combining music, dancing, great views and a place to splash about has led to the boat party becoming a rite of passage for those on a holiday. And where better to enjoy this manner of soiree than the Spain's majestic party scene, The Balearic Islands?

To get you in the mood for a nautical adventure, here is a list of events that should get you off to a good start.

Ibiza Rocks the Boat, Ibiza

On San Antonio harbour every Wednesday, the team behind the well-known Ibiza Rocks brand put on a delightful boat shindig known as 'Rocks the Boat' and rocks it does. Attracting hot international DJs from all over the world, revellers are often joined with famous artists, and in the past has seen Annie mac and Labrinth stop by.

It's targeted at those who enjoy more guitar-heavy tracks when on a night out and purchasing a ticket allows you entry into the Ibiza Rocks gig that they're having that night at their official hotel venue.

Tickets are around £50, which includes a free drink upon entry and runs from 2pm till 5pm.

Sunset Booze Cruise, Magaluf

We touched on Magaluf's awesome beach bars the other day, but now it's time to head away from the shore with area's biggest selling boat party.
Known for attracting stars of the reality world like Geordie Shore and Made in Chelsea, it was also used as the location for the hilarious finale of The Inbetweeners movie. Rightly so, because it is a cut above the norm.

Firstly, the bar is free for the entire duration, including a complimentary champagne bottle and T-shirt, making you feel like a rockstar as you swill fizz upon the yacht which is worth 2 million pounds.

The music on the boat leans to the more housey side with chart bangers by the fishbowl load and is presided over by Magaluf's top DJ elite. If you're in the mood for something a bit cheeky, drinking games often break out during the party that may or may not involve nudity.

Tickets for the four-hour daytime event cost £45 per person, running throughout the week until the 26th of September.

Oceanbeat Ibiza Boat Party, Ibiza / Formentera

Last but not least is the monster of all boat parties on the Balearic Islands: Oceanbeat Ibiza Party. With a capacity of 350 party goers and at 5 hours long, it's an event you will have to work up to, but is definitely worth it.

What makes it extra special is that the trip arrives at oft-overlooked Formentera Island where the party will continue on its striking beach. At 4 metres high, the promoters also claim that the boat has the 'highest jumping platform of any party'.

Tickets also include entry into Playa den Bossa when you return - a top Ibiza club.

Starting from 11:30am until 5pm, costing a little over £50 and runs every Saturday until the 1st of October.
