1. Hotel Atlas

Situated in the heart of the Medina of Marrakech and close to historical sites, Hotel Atlas is a charming property featuring traditional Moroccan design and a wide, green patio and terrace. As one TripAdvisor traveller commented, “We stayed here for a short break in Marrakech and I cannot fault it. The rooms were lovely and very clean, the staff are helpful and it’s excellent value for money. Plus it's only a matter of a few hundred yards from the main square – ideal.”

2. Riad Tamarrakecht

Located a few minutes from the famous Jemaa El Fna and close to the Dar Si Said Museum, Jardin Majorelle and Bahia Palace to name but a few attractions, Riad Tamarrakecht offers four rooms and one suite. Featuring a kitchen which is open to the patio, guests can observe the preparation of traditional Moroccan dishes and enjoy the aroma of the smells. As one TripAdvisor traveller commented, “The service is warm and friendly from the moment you walk through the doors. Clean, spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated, plus the value for money is unbeatable.”

3. Riad Dar Eliane

Offering mint tea and Moroccan pastries to guests on arrival, Riad Dar Eliane is a traditional Moroccan property featuring four spacious guestrooms, an old fireplace and a roof terrace with views of the Atlas Mountains. As one TripAdvisor traveller commented, “We decided to stay at Riad Dar Eliane for our first trip to Marrakech and were not disappointed. It’s beautifully decorated and immaculately clean and tidy, plus the breakfasts are a feast and the staff are superb.”

4. Riad Zinoun

Situated close to monuments such as Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs, guests can also visit the nearby Jemaa El Fna square where they can sample culinary products from the Moroccan food stalls or watch snake charmers and musicians as they pass. Boasting a new restaurant on its terrace, tagines and couscous can be enjoyed on deck chairs and sun loungers whilst soaking up the sun. As one TripAdvisor traveller commented, “The best thing about Riad Zinoun is its location which combines close proximity to the all-important happenings, eateries and services, whilst actually being far enough to allow for peaceful, tranquil mornings and nights. We felt it was great value for money and would thoroughly recommend it as a comfortable place to stay.” 

5. Dar Al Hamra

A family-owned hotel, Dar Al Hamra offers seven fully-equipped rooms, a solarium and roof terrace with views over the Atlas Mountains.  Located in the heart of the old city, the property is within walking distance of Dar el Bacha Palace and Majorelle Garden. As one TripAdvisor traveller commented, “A wonderful budget Riad with friendly and helpful staff. It’s a small oasis of calm in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Marrakech.”

6. Riad Bab Agnaou

Named after the famous gate of the Kasbah walls built in 1190, Riad Bab Agnaou is a five guestroom hotel located in the “Golden Triangle” of the district, near the Royal Palace, the Saadian Tombs and El Badi Palace. Carefully restored, the property features finely crafted columns, mosaic floors, coated Tadellakt walls, carved wood and old ironwork. As one TripAdvisor traveller commented, “The accommodation is spotlessly clean and the decoration is delightful. We loved the roof terrace, as it’s wonderful for sun bathing or watching the sunset with a drink in hand. We would thoroughly recommend it for the location, the value for money and the pleasant and helpful staff.”

7. Riad Basma

Recently renovated to preserve its original structure, Riad Basma is composed of five rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, a patio and terrace, and the property is within close reach of Jamaa el Fna and the Souks. As one TripAdvisor traveller commented, “We can highly recommend Riad Basma. The staff are friendly and helpful and the location is perfect. It’s close to the main square and the Souks, yet still quiet and calm on the roof terrace and inside during evenings and at night.”

8. MonRiad

Completely refurbished in 2010, MonRiad still maintains the traditional architecture and design of typical Moroccan houses, with white walls and striking blue tiles. Offering 12 rooms and a terrace, guests can admire the Medina and the Koutoubia Mosque during the day and the starry sky at night. As one TripAdvisor traveller commented, “I travelled with a friend and we really enjoyed our stay here. The location is great and the facilities and food was top-notch. Highly recommended if you want nice accommodation on a low budget.”

9. Riad Dar Ftouma

An 18th Century property located in the Medina and close to most of the major tourist attractions, Riad Dar Ftouma is decorated with influences from different regions of the country and features six rooms. As one TripAdvisor traveller commented, “We stayed at this Riad for two nights and we found it very beautiful and quiet. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and for the money being charged, this place offers great value.”

10. L'Heure d'Ete

Opened in 2006, L’Heure d’Ete is a boutique hotel designed in a contemporary minimalist style, with traditional Moroccan touches. Comprised of three floors with thirteen rooms and a suite, the property also features a garden terrace, a central patio lit by a glass roof and a spa offering massages with Argan oil. As one TripAdvisor traveller commented, “This Riad is in a great location, very close to the main square and within walking distance of most of the main historic sites. Plus it’s pretty inexpensive, so at the price being charged, it’s a good deal.”
